Application of the New Theory to 1 Rai

The Golden Jubilee Museum of Agriculture (GJMOA) was established to distribute HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great's knowledge of sustainable agriculture, including the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and the application of the New Theory to one rai of land.

Sufficiency Economy is a philosophy founded on the fundamental principles of Thai culture. It is a method of development that emphasizes moderation, prudence, and social immunity, as well as the use of knowledge and virtue as guidelines for living. Significantly, to achieve true happiness in life, intelligence and perseverance are required.

The New Theory is the most concrete application of the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy to agriculture. HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great developed this theory in order to assist Thai farmers who had suffered as a result of an economic crisis or natural disaster. The Museum previously operated a project in which a single Rai of land generated 100,000 baht in revenue. Twelve of these models were completed between September 2011 and January 2019.
